Beta Beta Chapter Scholarships

An Applicant Must:
Scholastic Information – An applicant must:
  1. Be an active member in good standing of Beta Beta Chapter for a minimum of two (2) years.
  2. Be actively engaged in the field of education or show specific plans to return to the field of education or be retired and seeking new opportunities.
  3. Provide evidence of contribution to Beta Beta Chapter.
  4. Have regular attendance at chapter meetings.
  5. Provide evidence of excellence in scholarship.

    SCHOLARSHIPS / WORKSHOP STIPENDS
  1. Scholarship and workshop stipends are funded through the proceeds of the yearly auction.
  2. Scholarship and workshop stipends will be awarded as applications are received and approved by the Scholarship Committee on a first-come basis.
  3. A member may receive one non-degree scholarship and/or workshop stipend per fiscal year.
  4. The amount will be voted upon each year at the September meeting for Scholarships. 
    The amount is $2,000 for the current year.
  5. The maximum amount granted to any member for a workshop will be $200 if funds are available.
  6. The maximum amount granted toward a Delta Kappa Gamma conference registration is $100 if funds are available.
  7. Members pursing a college degree may apply for a $500 scholarship per semester or $1,000 per year if funds are available.
 
Applicants are also encouraged to apply for an OSO Scholarship and/or International Scholarship.

STATE/INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS:
1.  Oklahoma State Organization Leadership Management 
      Seminar - $200 
  • A maximum amount of $100 per applicant will be granted with Beta Beta Officers having priority.  If workshop money remains it may also be used.

2.  Oklahoma State Organization Conference/Convention Meal
      Stipend
  • Because of the uncertainty of the costs associated with Gamma State Convention and the finances of Beta Beta, the amount of money set aside for attendee meals and how to award this stipend will be decided at a later date by the Scholarship Committee and the Executive Board of Beta Beta Chapter. The money will come from funds not awarded under the Workshop Stipend.

3.  Delta Kappa Gamma Regional Conferences and
      International Conventions
  • Money not used from workshop stipends may also be used to help defer expenses of members attending these meetings s up to $100 per attendee.  This does not include those members who were receiving funds to attend and paid from Beta Beta General Funds.
  • All Scholarships and stipends will be awarded as applications are received and approved by the Scholarship Committee.  Payment will be made when proof of completed enrollment or workshop attendance is presented.
  • Any money left from the Scholarship funds allotted for the current year will be returned to the general fund.
